We exist to help students grow in their love for Jesus.

 

Fine Arts

Students are taught visual art, and music. They are encouraged to express themselves creatively and skillfully in these subject areas.

 

Extended French Program

Students in grades 1-4 are taught Core French, French Social Studies, and French Health as a part of our extended French Program. Each year, our Extended French Program, taught by Mme. Sybil, will expand. Core French is also taught in grades 5-8.Grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking are all part of the French language program. Cultural dimensions focus on a variety of French speaking countries. Students are exposed to individuals from diverse French speaking environments. They are also given opportunities and encouraged to speak the language in the community.

Language Arts

The focus of this program is the importance of effective reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. These skills are developed for practical uses in society. Students are taught grammar, handwriting, phonics and spelling according to their level.

Music

The Music program which runs from Grades 1 to 8 sees Grades 1 to 4 students receiving instruction on the recorder and Grades 5 to 8 students having a choice between the clarinet, saxophone or flute.

Math

Students are taught using a variety of manipulatives, real-life examples, problem solving, computations and math concepts. Students are given supplementary material to provide reinforcement of the material learned in class.

Physical Education

Students are encouraged to develop healthy lifestyles by making responsible choices. They exercise daily and realize the importance of this healthy practice. Students develop eye-hand coordination, good sportsmanship, movement, balance, speed and strength building skills.

Science

Students are provided opportunities to explore science with both hands on experiments/activities and technological devices. They are taught scientific terminologies and how to use various scientific equipment. Students learn how they can participate in protecting the environment in which they live in terms of waste, etc. They also learn how they can play a role in preserving their present and future environment. Students utilize the scientific method and demonstrate their understanding in the Annual School Science Fair.

Social Studies

Students are taught the cultural heritage of Canada; its diversity and multiculturalism. They learn about the structure of the Canadian government and how it has evolved over time .Students learn about other communities worldwide and make comparisons and contrasts. They also develop mapping skills.

  2. Buzz Math: BuzzMath focuses on helping middle schoolers practice their math skills. It contains high-quality problems, gives immediate and detailed feedback, and lets students progress at their own pace. Randomly generated values let students retry problems to obtain mastery.
